Pharos is excited to share big updates with Pharos Cloud, the secure, cloud-native, modern print management platform that helps enterprises reduce costs, eliminate print servers, and simplify IT operations. The new release brings enhancements that support the needs of the modern workplace and provide admins with greater efficiency and control over their print environment.
Supporting the Modern Print Environment
The previous Pharos Cloud introduced support for Secure Release printing and print tracking for Windows on Arm devices and Windows Protected Print mode. This release builds on Pharos’ commitment to modern print environments by adding Direct IP printing support. In addition, Pharos has updated the experience with the Microsoft IPP driver to align with the look and feel of the Pharos IPP driver that customers are familiar with to provide a consistent user experience.
To help Blueprint customers migrate to Pharos Cloud, the Print Scout installer (starting with Pharos Cloud 4.3) will automatically detect and uninstall any existing Blueprint components before proceeding with the Pharos Cloud installation.
Enhanced Administrative Control
The new Pharos Cloud release also includes several updates to give administrators greater control and flexibility:
- A new “Allow Job Upload” toggle allows organizations to prevent users from uploading jobs to the User Portal while maintaining portal access to reset password or manage submitted print jobs.
- A new option to Lock Secure Print Settings adds an important security layer to prevent accidental or unauthorized modifications by requiring Pharos Cloud Administrator authorization via a Site Service key.
- A new MSI installer for Print Scout supports centralized deployment through tools like Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (SCCM) or Group Policy to provide streamlined installations, better support for automated deployments, and enhanced security via digital signatures.
