Pharos is excited to announce the new release of Pharos Cloud, the PrintOps platform proven to meet the scalability, security, and reliability requirements of global enterprises. Updates with this release are designed to enhance administrative control and make it easier to gain actionable insights into the print environment.
Support for SAML as an Authentication Provider
Security Assertion Markup Language (SAML) is a protocol enabling Single Sign-On (SSO), allowing users to access multiple applications with one set of credentials. Pharos Cloud now supports SAML as an authentication provider (in addition to OpenID Connect) to authenticate users and authorize them to print with Pharos Cloud. This improves the user experience by simplifying password management with SSO and also enhances overall security with features like digital signatures and encryption to keep data secure.
New APIs
Pharos has introduced three new APIs on the Analysis tab of Pharos Cloud to manage users and extract data points from Pharos Cloud that can be used with third-party applications such as Excel, PowerBI Desktop, and Tableau—paving the way for extensive data analysis and insights.
- Users API: A new SCIM-based API card enables Admins to easily export user data from Pharos Cloud, as well as create and manage print and guest users.
- Device Status Data API: Exports status data of print devices including Last Status Read, Device Error, and Device Status.
- Device Toner Data API: Exports toner status of print devices including last Supply Read, Lowest Toner Level, Black, Cyan, Magenta, and Yellow levels.
Sentry Print Updates
Updates to the Sentry Print platform for Pharos Cloud have enhanced the control Administrators have over Secure Release printing in their print environments. Admins can now choose whether users can change finishing options after print job submission, retain documents in the queue after job release, and enable Print Scout release on cloud-connected printers to improve user experience.
