Pharos is excited to announce a new release of Pharos Cloud, the PrintOps platform proven to meet the scalability, security, and reliability requirements of global enterprises. Pharos Cloud eliminates print servers, enabling organizations to migrate to an easy-to-use SaaS solution driving IT productivity, enhancing security, and enabling an intuitive print experience. All Pharos Cloud releases are designed with these tenets in mind, and the Pharos Cloud 4.0 release is no exception. Key updates with this release support the requirements of global enterprises by enabling seamless direct IP printing across networks and customized settings across printers that can be applied across different geographies.

Direct IP printing via the cloud

Direct IP printing via the cloud enables users to send print jobs across networks with ease. This allows employees in security-conscious organizations where printers are hosted in a separate or isolated network to send print jobs to be printed immediately on a Pharos-managed direct printer—even if there isn’t a direct line of sight between the workstation and the target printer. By leveraging the cloud-based delivery pathway of Pharos Secure Release, users can print via the cloud in the direct-to-printer workflow they are familiar with—even when they are off the company network and working from a coffee shop or their home office.

Device Profiles

Pharos Cloud Update

Pharos has introduced Device Profiles to enhance user experience and administrative control for large, global organizations. Device Profiles enable IT administrators to customize Secure Release settings for individual printers rather than applying a uniform setting across all printers. Organizations can now create and set default options (i.e. scan options, scan destinations, and logon experience) per profile, and assign them to each printer. This provides greater flexibility to match local needs while maintaining centralized control. For instance, administrators can set location-specific configurations with different default paper sizes for scanning, such as Letter for in the US and A4 in Europe.

Scan enhancements

Pharos Cloud’s integrated scanning has been enhanced for security-conscious customers by supporting the Microsoft 365 API for scan-to-email. When configuring scan-to-email, administrators can now select the cloud-based option which provides more security and control. Additionally, the usability of Pharos Cloud’s integrated scanning has been improved. Scanned file names can now be edited, and new folder breadcrumbs for scanning to OneDrive and SharePoint now simplify navigation and provide clickable links to access specific folders for increased efficiency.

In addition, usability of Pharos Cloud’s integrated scanning has been improved with this release. Users are now able to edit the file name of a scan file, and scan to OneDrive and SharePoint now display breadcrumbs of traversed folders, with clickable links to access specific folders.
