We’re excited to share that a new release of Blueprint—the premier on-prem print management platform trusted by large enterprises to deliver cost savings, enhance security, and manage a multi-vendor printer fleet—is available. Blueprint 5.4 Update 4 provides enhancements that enhance security, compliance, and Administrator efficiency. Key enhancements with this release include:

Migration to Microsoft .NET 8
Blueprint’s IPP Service and Sentry Print Provisioning Service have been migrated from .NET 6 to .NET 8, the latest version of Microsoft’s developer platform designed to deliver productivity, performance, security and reliability. In November this year, Microsoft will stop supporting .NET 6, which is used in previous versions of Blueprint 5.4. Older versions of Blueprint 5.4 will remain operational for customers choosing to remain on .NET 6.

Revamped printer credential management
The new release revamps the printer credential management capability of Blueprint to enhance IT efficiency, security, and compliance by simplifying the process of regularly updating printer credentials for a large printer fleet. Administrators are now able to:

  • Create and manage printer credentials that can be shared across an entire fleet of printers from the same manufacturer
  • Manage multiple sets of credentials per print manufacturer
  • Set the priority order for printer credentials
  • Specify the validity period for the credentials (start/end date)
  • Set additional settings for Ricoh (remote installation password) and Xerox (SNMP v3 configuration, HTTP/S port numbers)
  • View the credentials assigned to a printer from the Secure Printers grid

Enhanced management of printer models
Blueprint 5.4 Update 4 has also enhanced printer models management to drive IT efficiency and improve collaboration for device management. Blueprint Admins are now able to:

  • Quickly filter and identify new printer models in Blueprint Administrator after supported models are imported
  • Export models to a .csv file to easily share a list of models with stakeholders

Support for Ethernet 241 Card Reader Connector
With this release, Blueprint now supports the Ethernet 241 card reader connector to enable secure release workflows at any networked printer. The Ethernet 241 improves upon the SR25 connector, which is no longer in production, by deploying easily from a workstation running a portable app—the process no longer requires a USB drive.
