Pharos Relocates HQ to the Riverwood Tech Campus
Pharos Systems International is happy to announce our move to the new Riverwood Tech Campus in Henrietta, joining other growing technology companies in a beautifully designed and environmentally conscious business complex. The custom office design has quickly impressed employees and visitors alike.
Riverwood, originally constructed as Eastman Kodak’s Marketing Education Center in the late 1970s, was designed in the style of modernist icon Ludwig Mies van der Rohe by the architecture firm of Skidmore, Owings and Merrill (SOM). Their other work includes One World Trade Center and the Burj Khalifa—the tallest skyscraper in the world.
Riverwood is built like a modern fortress, with giant exposed steel beams, clean lines, open internal spaces and perimeter walls of high-efficiency glass that help create a bright and energizing environment.
Its eco-friendly features include a state-of-the-art HVAC system, a green rooftop, a charging station for electric cars, and a solar panel flower that helps power the building. We were fortunate to work with local developer Frederick Rainaldi Jr., who has played a lead role in the revitalization of many historic properties in the Rochester area.
Bordering the Genesee River to the west and the Rochester Institute of Technology to the northeast, the Riverwood Tech Campus also boasts a shared conference space, fitness center, basketball court, food truck pavilion, 75 acres of woods, 3½ miles of hiking trails, and docks for kayaking and canoeing on the river. It’s a slice of Silicon Valley right in here in our backyard.
Pharos CEO Kevin Pickhardt summarized it well: “The level of commitment that was made to create this unique technology campus experience, combined with a focus on employee wellness and community sustainability, is the perfect fit for Pharos as we further our development as a benefit corporation and solidify our foundation for growth.”
