The Pharos Omega PS60 provides printing security for any printer, copier, or multifunction device and is ideal for administrative and academic offices in colleges, universities, and school districts.

The PS60 works in conjunction with the Secure Release Here® feature of Pharos Uniprint®. When users print documents on a computer, their jobs do not go directly to a printer. Instead, they are held in a special queue. When users need their printouts, they walk up to any printer or multifunction device connected to an Omega PS60 and authenticate themselves by swiping their ID card across a card reader. After authentication, the PS60 releases all of the user’s print jobs.

When connected to a multifunction printer, the PS60 disables all of the device's functions (print, copy, scan, fax, etc.) until a user presents a valid ID card and is successfully authenticated.

The Omega PS60 also helps reduce printing waste because unreleased jobs are deleted by Uniprint after a certain amount of time passes, ensuring that paper and toner are not wasted on documents that no one really needed to print.
