The Secure Release Here® feature of Pharos Uniprint® takes printing to a new level by making it significantly more convenient and secure—and by giving patrons more control over the process. If they’re doing research on the first floor of the library, they no longer have to use a printer on that floor. Secure Release Here enables them to print and retrieve their jobs anywhere in the library. If they’re printing a private document, they no longer have to run to the printer to claim their printout before someone else reads it. The job will wait for them.

Here’s how Secure Release Here works. After submitting print jobs from a computer, patrons simply:

1. Walk up to any Pharos-controlled printer and authenticate themselves by swiping their library card or entering their user ID
2. Select and release their jobs using the Pharos print release screen and then collect their printouts

The Pharos-controlled printer could be an integrated multifunction printer (iMFP) or a printer connected to a Pharos Omega PS200.

In addition to delivering printing convenience and security, Secure Release Here reduces waste because patrons release only the jobs they really need to print and brings order to public printing areas by eliminating piles of unclaimed printouts.
