Pharos Systems has three print management and optimization service offerings for our education customers:
• Print Assessment
• Print Strategy Development
• Implementation and On-going Optimization
The goal of Print Assessment is to develop a baseline of the current state of your output environments. We evaluate printing across your institution: student printing, faculty and staff printing, centralized production printing, and externally-sourced printing. Pharos consultants, all at least Six Sigma green belts, work closely with you to identify the key metrics for print evaluation and document assessment. They collect data, study print vendor contracts and invoices, conduct “voice of the customer” interviews and workshops, and analyze current document-intensive processes. Statistical analysis and trending is used to ensure that all conclusions are fact-based and provide a solid footing for the development of a campus-wide print management and optimization strategy.
Print Strategy Development takes the data and analyses from Print Assessment and filters them through the Pharos knowledge-base of printing benchmarks and best practices. Pharos consultants deliver future-state options for you to consider that will reduce your printing costs and carbon footprint, while improving process efficiency. The description of each option includes the projected savings, required investments, and expected timeline. An individual strategy is developed for each print environment, as well as an integrated, campus-wide strategy. Consistent with Lean Six-Sigma principles, Pharos consultants build appropriate controls into all proposed print strategies to ensure that continuous improvement is a key component. And they translate your critical requirements into measurable performance objectives, such as reduce the cost of device infrastructure by 45%, reduce overall print output by 35%, reduce remaining color output by 75%, reduce remaining 1-sided output by 50%, and so on.
After you have selected one of the future-state options, Pharos consultants produce a detailed summary of the gaps between the current state and the desired future state, and present detailed recommendations for closing the gaps. To ensure maximum results, Pharos dedicated On-Site Print Specialists implement these recommendations and provide on-going print management and optimization services. They are embedded in your institution, serving as the go-to people for anything related to making every print an intelligent decision.
