The Departmental Chargeback application of Pharos Uniprint® and Off-The-Glass® enables faculty, administration, and staff to allocate print/copy costs to a specific budget center, which could be an academic department, administrative office, program, grant, contract, etc.

Departmental Chargeback ensures that print/copy costing is accurate and uniform across the institution. It also helps with cost containment by making it feasible for different groups of users to share equipment. For instance, several academic departments could use the same printer, confident that they will be fairly charged based on their usage. Uniprint also allows you to manage a shared print/copy budget with pre-established allocations and users to prevent overspending.

It’s easy to use. Users simply select a cost center from a list displayed on the Pharos interface. Their print/copy jobs are charged to that cost center until they select a different one.

Reports are available that summarize the amounts charged to each cost center, which facilitates internal accounting and budget processes as well as the billing of expenses to third parties.
