Uniprint 8.1 SignUp Server Revision 95

This update addresses known problems with Pharos SignUp Vx3 version 8.1. Installing the update is mandatory for all users.

Before You Start

• This hot-fix should only be applied to installations using Pharos Suite SignUp 8.1.

Installation

The update affects the Pharos SignUp Server, and should be applied to all SignUp Server machines.

To apply the update:

1. On each SignUp Server machine, stop the Pharos SignUp Server service.
2. If the Pharos Nerve Center is run on IIS on the same machine, also stop the World Wide Web Publishing service.
3. Copy the following files to the Pharos\bin directory, overwriting the existing file.
   • SUServer.exe
   • PSDomain.dll
   • Reservations.dll

   If the Nerve Center has been in use, the WWW Publishing Service may take a few minutes to release the above files for replacement.

4. Restart the Pharos SignUp Server service and the WWW Publishing Service.
5. If the Nerve Center is installed on an IIS server separate to where the Pharos SignUp service is installed, the PSdomain.dll and Reservations.dll files will need to be replaced in the Pharos\bin directory on the IIS server as well as on the SignUp Server machine.

The version number of the updated files is 8.1.5293.95.

The application of this update constitutes acceptance of the conditions specified in your license agreement. To view the license agreement, please refer to the license.rtf file on your Pharos CD.

Details

This update addresses the following issues:

• In the scenario where the SignUp Server is not on the same machine as the Principal Services:
  If a SignUp Client becomes available for a Queued Reservation (previous user logs off) at the time that the Proxy Service believes the Database Service to be unavailable, the next Reservation in the queue was removed from the queue, but was not assigned to the Client machine. The Reservation would remain unassigned until the SignUp Server was restarted. Scheduled Reservations would also not be assigned to client machines if they became due when the Proxy Service deemed the Principal Services to be unavailable.

  Note: Resolution of this issue also requires Revision 95 or later of the following: Pharos Proxy Server, SignUp Client and Pharos Station.

In addition, the update includes previously released fixes for the following issues:

• When using a script function 'User.PasswordVerify' on the SignUp Server bank, the function would cause a general exception in the SignUp Server.
