Uniprint 8.0 Hot Fix 4

Pre-install

This Hot Fix is compatible with the 8.0 release of Uniprint.

Installation

This Hot Fix affects the Pharos Web Remote Application. To apply the Hot Fix:

  1. On the Principal Server, stop the Pharos WCF Service.
  2. Copy the files from the WCF_dlls folder of the Hot Fix package. Paste these files into the Pharos\Bin\WCF directory of the Principal server, overwriting the existing files.
  3. Restart the Pharos WCF Service.
  4. Apply the transaction_list_detail1.sql stored procedure against the Pharos Database.
  5. On the Pharos Web Services machine, copy the files from the 'web_files' folder of the Hot Fix package. Paste these files into the Inetpub\wwwroot\Pharos directory of the Web Server machine, overwriting the existing files.

Note: Moving files into the Inetpub\wwwroot\Pharos folder may result in incorrect permissions being applied to these files. If Web Remote cannot be accessed, with the error message 'Error 500 – Internal Server Error', complete the following steps to restore correct permissions:

  1. Right-click on the Inetpub\wwwroot\Pharos folder and select Properties.
  2. Select the Security tab and click the Advanced button at the bottom.
  3. At the bottom of the Advanced Security Settings tab check the box 'Replace permission entries on all child objects with entries shown here that apply to child objects'.
  4. Click OK to close all dialogs.
  5. Restart the World Wide Web Publishing Service as above.

The application of this Hot Fix constitutes acceptance of the conditions specified in your license agreement. To view the license agreement, please refer to the file 'license.rtf' on your Pharos CD.

Details

This Hot Fix addresses the following issues:

  • A Recent Activity View has been added as an additional action in the Accounts section to allow viewing of users' most recent transactions. The default number of transactions displayed is 100. This value can be adjusted in the appsettings.config file of the Pharos Web installation.

  • Proctor permissions regarding the moving or purging of print jobs were not always applied correctly. The application of this Hot Fix ensures that Proctor permissions defined in the Pharos Administrator > System Settings are correctly applied.

  • When viewed with Internet Explorer, under certain conditions the Alerts tab could wrap and be displayed below the Accounts tab rather than in line with the other tabs. The application of this Hot Fix ensures that the tabs display correctly on Internet Explorer.
