Uniprint 8.0 Hot Fix 11

Pre-install

This Hot Fix is compatible with the 8.0 release of Uniprint.

Installation

This Hot Fix affects the Pharos External Device Interface (EDI). To apply the Hot Fix:

  1. Stop the World Wide Web Publishing Service.
  2. Copy the following files into the Inetpub\wwwroot\PharosEdi\bin directory of the web server that the EDI is installed on:
    • EdiService.dll
    • PharosSystems.Com.dll
    • PharosSystems.Library.dll
    • PharosSystems.Uniprint.BaseComClient.dll
  3. Restart the World Wide Web Publishing Service.

Once the Hot Fix is applied, the version number of the affected files will be updated to 8.0.4802

Note: Moving files into the PharosEdi\bin folder may result in incorrect permissions being applied to these files. If the EDI cannot be contacted, with the error message 'XML file does not have a top level document', complete the following steps to restore correct permissions:

  1. Right-click on the PharosEdi folder and select Properties.
  2. Select the Security tab and click the Advanced button at the bottom.
  3. At the bottom of the Advanced Security Settings tab check the box 'Replace permission entries on all child objects with entries shown here that apply to child objects'.
  4. Click OK to close all dialogs.
  5. Restart the World Wide Web Publishing Service as above.

The application of this Hot Fix constitutes acceptance of the conditions specified in your license agreement. To view the license agreement, please refer to the file 'license.rtf' on your Pharos CD.

Details

This Hot Fix addresses the following issues:

  • Under certain conditions the EDI Server could not recover from the loss of the Database Server connection and would fail with the following error message: "Object reference not set to an instance of an object”. The application of this Hot Fix ensures the EDI handles and recovers from the loss of connection with the Database Server.
  • Under certain circumstances an unhandled exception was thrown in the EDI server, resulting in the error message: "exception:Collection was modified; enumeration operation may not execute" and could possibly result in a "Session Unavailable" error on some clients. The application of this Hot Fix ensures that these errors are not seen.
