CDT Card Reader Logon DLL

The CDT Card Reader Logon DLL supports debit cash cards and credit cards.

At PHAROS “Administrator/ Charging/ Logon DLLs”, select the “CDT Cash Card Reader”, and set the “Identifies User” to “Yes”.

At PHAROS Administrator/ Charging/ Banks, select the CDT Bank, and set the “Source of Identification” to “CDT Cash Card Reader”, so that the PHAROS Station will check the logon ID that the user entered for their credit card.

Debit Cards

For debit cards, the administrator needs to add a public User account with a specific Logon ID. The default is “111111”, without a password, and set the “Billing option” to “Advance”.

This account is used for all debit cards(cash cards).

First, run “Pstation Logon DLL Configuration”. The DLL will write a default debit card ID string “111111” in the Registry value “DebitCardID”. The DLL will also create another Registry value, “Prompt”, with the default “Please enter Logon ID”. Both of them are under the Registry Key:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\PHAROS\Station\Pharos - CDT\Values

The administrator can manually change these values (for example, if you would like to create a common Logon ID “123456” for debit cards, create a user without a password and with the Logon ID “123456”; then you can change “DebitCardID” value to “123456”).

Credit Cards

For credit cards, the administrator needs to add a User account for every credit card user, with individual Logon IDs and no passwords, and set the “Billing option” to “Arrears”.

When a credit card holder inserts a card in a card reader, the PHAROS station will pop up a dialog asking for the Logon ID. Once the credit card holder enters the correct Logon ID, the PHAROS station verifies the Logon ID with the PHAROS Database (this Logon ID must have been created in the Database) and shows the printing job list The user can then release printing jobs.

PHAROS Administrator will record all transactions, which can then be reviewed by the system administrator.
