The BEAR Card Reader Logon DLL returns only the balance of debit cards. There
is no card ID.
The BEAR
cash card reader runs at both 9600 or 19200 Baud depending on the programming
of the card reader. Running the card reader at 19200 may need a UART16550
serial port (i.e. better than the old standard 1 byte buffer serial port) due
to the rate at which data can arrive. Most modern PCs come with this as
standard, but some old machines - often used as PHAROS Stations - will have the slower serial port.
