The ACT Card Reader Logon DLL reads unit and cash debit cards. The PHAROS Station calculates unit use according to the number of sheets used in the print job: one unit equals one sheet. However, the PHAROS Station is currently unable to display the card balance in units. To enable display of unit balances, a unit is assigned a value in the DLL of 1000 currency units (i.e. $1.00). The PHAROS Station balance window displays the balance as $1.00 = one unit. For example, a balance of $4.00 represents four units, which means the user may print another four sheets. The actual cost of the print job per sheet is immaterial to the system unless it is more than $1.00. If the cost per sheet is more than $1.00 the user may not be able to spend their last few units.
